About the Role
We are looking for a Design Engineer to serve as the critical bridge between our Design and Development teams. Most of our UI/UX team comes from a strong visual design background, creating exceptional interfaces and robust design systems in Figma. As we advance into AI-driven workflows (such as Figma Make, AI generation, and vibe coding), we need someone who understands design but is equally comfortable with writing and debugging code.
You will evaluate technical feasibility, research AI-driven product workflows, transform AI-generated prototypes into production-ready code, manage version control, and deploy applications to our servers.
Responsibilities
- Design-to-Code Bridge: Act as the technical translator between designers and developers. Help visual designers understand how Figma tokens, variables, and auto-layouts translate into clean, semantic front-end code
- AI Prototyping & Vibe Coding: Use AI generation tools (such as Figma Make, modern LLMs, Claude and AI agents) to rapidly create, iterate, and refine high-fidelity prototypes
- Technical Feasibility: Review complex design concepts early in the product lifecycle to evaluate technical constraints, performance, and implementation feasibility before they enter development
- Debugging & Deployment: Debug AI-generated or designer-created code, manage source code using Git, and deploy applications to staging and production environments
- Design System Architecture & Governance: Build, maintain, and scale UI components across Figma and code repositories while ensuring design tokens, variables, naming conventions, and component structures remain consistent with front-end architectures
- UI Code Quality: Establish front-end UI standards to ensure pixel-perfect implementation, responsive behavior, and strong performance across devices
- Model Context Protocol (MCP): Understand how MCP connects AI generation workflows with design token repositories and context files to produce clean, structured HTML and CSS output
- Knowledge Sharing: Occasionally take sessions with the team
Required Skills
- Hybrid Design & Engineering Experience: A strong portfolio demonstrating both UI/UX design understanding and front-end engineering capabilities
- Design Tools: Advanced knowledge of Figma, including design tokens, variables, responsive auto-layout, interactive components, and AI integrations such as Figma Make
- Front-End Engineering: Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks such as React, Vue, or Next.js
- Version Control & Deployment: Experience with Git/GitHub and deployment platforms such as Vercel, Netlify, AWS, or similar environments. Basic Knowledge of Node.js
- AI Literacy: Comfortable using prompts, AI agents, and AI-assisted workflows to accelerate design and prototyping.
- Problem Solver & Collaborator: Ability to debug AI-generated code while helping designers understand technical implementation and constraints
- Experience: 4-7 years of relevant experience.
Tools & Software Proficiency
- Design Tools: Advanced knowledge of Figma, including design tokens, variables, responsive auto-layout, interactive components, and AI integrations such as Figma Make
- Front-End Frameworks & Languages: JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, React, Vue, Next.js
- Design System: Material, Shadcn
- Systems & Hand-off Tools: Storybook, GitHub / GitLab, Tokens Studio for Figma, Style Dictionary, CI/CD deployment pipelines, Familiarity with API integrations and dynamic CMS architectures (including custom PHP-based layout engines) is a plus
- AI Literacy: Comfortable using prompts, AI agents, and AI-assisted workflows to accelerate design and prototyping.
- Problem Solver & Collaborator: Ability to debug AI-generated code while helping designers understand technical implementation and constraints
- Experience: 4-7 years of relevant experience
Ideal Profile
- Enjoy working closely with designers
- Technically curious and able to explain technical concepts in simple terms
- Detail-oriented, especially with UI alignment and component logic
- Comfortable owning small product features from design through deployment
- 4-7 years of relevant experience
Why Join Us?
